Description

Enjoy your Odet river cruise to enjoy a stopover in Quimper, capital of Cornouaille, or Bénodet, one of Brittany’s most beautiful seaside resorts ! The Odet forms a link between the Pays Bigouden and the Pays Fouesnantais, two shores with different headdresses and ancient customs. But the river also links the town of Quimper to the estuary marked by Bénodet and Sainte Marine. An ever-changing show set against a prestigious backdrop of castles, manor houses, forests and vire-courts.

Visit Quimper during your stopover!

Come aboard at Benodet’s old port. Sail up the Odet river to the port of Corniguel, Quimper’s commercial harbor, just a few kilometers from the city centre. A special shuttle bus drives you to the heart of the city. Gothic cathedral, historic squares, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, covered market… the pedestrian zone is a delight to stroll through. For lunch, there’s a wide choice of restaurants and crêperies with terraces. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Place de la Providence is transformed into a market with unpackers and stalls selling fresh produce. At the end of your stopover, take the bus back to the Corniguel harbor for the return trip to Benodet along the Odet. Program is tide-dependent, please enquire about possible dates and times.

Enjoy the benefits of Bénodet!

Embark in Quimper at the Corniguel port and sail down the Odet river to Benodet. Located at the mouth of the Odet river, this seaside resort is ideally exposed to the sun and sea. The sea ledge offers a stroll from the old port to Pointe Saint Gilles, via the lively seafront. The little train also awaits you in front of the pier for a guided tour. The Museum Bord de Mer presents a permanent exhibition on the evolution of sea bathing in Benodet, as well as temporary exhibitions of paintings. the entrance is free.
Are you with your family and children? Get on board the P’tit Bac to cross the Odet river and reach the charming port of Sainte Marine. Practical and fun, the P’tit Bac allows you to visit Sainte Marine and take a walk along the coastal path to the Sainte Marine lighthouse or to the beautiful Kermor beach ! Benodet has a great taste of vacation !

Tide, Kesako?

The length of stopovers is therefore not regular. Check cruise departure times to organize your stopover. One-way cruises departing from Benodet or Quimper. FAQs

How long is the stopover in Quimper?

Depending on the tide, stopover times vary from 4 to 7 hours in Quimper; from 2 to 5 hours in Benodet.

Is it possible to take a one-way cruise?

If the tide allows you to dock at Quimper, you can take a one-way cruise from Bénodet to Quimper or vice versa. There are no hiking trails along the river for your return journey. We recommend taking the beach bus or cycling.

Can you see Quimper Cathedral from the boat?

The boat doesn’t go all the way up to Quimper town center because of the tides and the silting up of the river. It’s not possible to see the cathedral from the boat.
