Description
Let yourself be enchanted by the colors of the water. Comfortably seated on the upper deck or in the indoor lounge with its panoramic view, let yourself be guided along the Odet river for a cruise commented by a passionate guide aboard the Vedettes de l’Odet.
L’Odet, la Belle Bretonne
Captivating, wild, untamed and a touch mysterious, the Odet well deserves its title of “prettiest river in France”, awarded by Émile Zola himself during a stay in Cornouaille. And when you discover the river for the first time, you understand what the writer meant. Wooded landscapes dotted with castles and manor houses of character, a veritable ball of seabirds and river birds, or forgotten coves bursting with sunshine. And when the banks of the Odet take on a rosy hue, it’s more than a show, it’s a fairyland of lights in this majestic setting. In May, wild rhododendrons invade the riverbanks several meters high, giving way to a breathtaking purple hue. In the company of a guide with a passion for the region and Breton traditions, local culture and historical anecdotes will hold no secrets for you.
From Benodet, choose a guided cruise along La Belle Bretonne to Kerogan Bay at the entrance of Quimper. The boat turns around and heads back down the river to its estuary, signposted by Benodet and Sainte Marine, for a trip in the Bay of Benodet. The seafront of the seaside resort and the Pointe de Sainte Marine offer a panoramic view of nature, with the Glenan archipelago on the horizon. Return to the port of Benodet. The cruise takes about 2h15.
Loopik, your children’s playmate, is invited aboard the Odet cruise. Discovering the Odet river with the guide’s commentary and the games booklet becomes even more fun for children! Labyrinth, rebus, arrowwords, riddles, charades… A multitude of games to make your Odet cruise a real pleasure. The booklets are suitable for children aged 3 to 12, and are offered when boarding passes are collected at the Bénodet and Quimper agencies.
