Description
If you love freedom, a change of scenery, great natural sites and translucent waters? Go beyond your limits! Rent a sea kayak and head off to the Glenan archipelago for a day of thrills and spills!
After an hour’s crossing, you dock on Saint Nicolas Island. At the top of the slipway, the instructor hands out the equipment: kayaks, life jackets, paddles, unsinkable caisson and a nautical chart with a navigation perimeter for your safety. Once you’ve signed the rental agreement and explained the final tips, it’s time to enjoy the pleasures of paddling!
Alone and at your own pace, you can explore the Glenan Islands and take full advantage of the natural surroundings: the discreet cove at Drennec, the Tombolo at Bananec, the mythical beach at Le Loch, … There’s something for everyone as you explore the archipelago in the company of seabirds such as terns, Kentish plover scuttles, oystercatchers and herring gulls…
At the end of the day, you return your kayak to the instructor 40 minutes before the departure of your boat. Lots on your mind, and ready to go again…
Useful information
Luggage
Two pieces of hand luggage per person are allowed on board, up to a maximum of 30 kg.
Picnic
It is recommended to bring a picnic and plenty of water to keep hydrated. There are no shops on Saint Nicolas island.
Binoculars
We recommend you to bring a pair of binoculars to make the most of the cruise.
For swimmers
You must be able to swim to take advantage of this service.
FAQs
We advise you to wear light clothing for kayaking (tee shirt, shorts, windbreaker, cap). The combination is useless. You can leave a change of clothes with the kayakers.
By kayak, it’s easy to land on the beaches. The navigation perimeter allows beaching on Drenec, Loch, Bananec and Saint Nicolas, bypassing Cigogne. For your safety, kayakers provide each boat with a map of the archipelago.
Kayaks must be booked at the same time as the crossing. This service is often a victim of its own success, but if kayaks are available, you can hire them by the hour from kayakers on a “hit-or-miss” basis!
Guest reviews
Romain and Pierrick made us feel very welcome on arrival on St Nicolas Island. They rented and returned our kayaks and gave us advice on the archipelago! Thanks team.
